Detective Jeff Hobales is assigned to the Professional Standards Unit in the Recruitment and Background Investigation Section. His primary responsibility is to accurately conduct a thorough investigation of an applicant’s personal, educational and employment history as mandated by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the Davie Police Department’s General Orders and the Town of Davie’s Rule and Regulations.

Applicants are then scheduled for a series interviews and tests that will help determine whether they meet the standards required by the State of Florida, the Towm of Davie and the Davie Police Department. The goal of the background investigator is to ensure that the department hires the most qualified applicants.

Recruiting responsibilities include, going to the Police Academy and talking to potential candidates when they’re taking their swim and agility tests prior to them submitting an employment application to an agency. The Recruiter also attends numerous Job Fairs amd maintains job announcements on numerous web sites, newspapers and police magazines.
