How many days until a report will be available from the Records Department?

It takes approximately three to five working days. It is recommended that you call and verify that the report is available.
What do I need to bring to pick up an incident report?

Depending on the classification of the report, the requirements may vary.
What do I need to bring to pick up a Traffic Accident report?

Traffic accidents are no longer public record until after sixty days from the date of the accident. Florida State Statute 316.066 requires you to meet the following seven exemptions in order to receive an accident report before the sixty day limit.

How to request a report by mail?

Include a written request, self-addressed stamped envelope, and the fee. Accidents must include a notarized Affidavit.

What procedure do I take if I need to be fingerprinted and how much will it cost?

Fingerprinting is only done by appointment. Please call (954) 693-8200 to schedule one.

What if I don't have my case number?

All our records are filed by case number. If you do not have a case number, please provide our department with the time, date, and location of incident, in order to research your request.

We have to search this by hand, so please provide as much information as possible.
What do I need for a background check?

We maintain Davie records only. To order a background check you should reside, or be employed in the Town of Davie, past or presently.

Please bring photo identification with you.

The fee is $1.15 (copy fee.)

There may be an additional fee for extensive background checks.
