Campus Police

The Town of Davie is home to the South Florida Educational Complex (SFEC) containing campuses of Broward Community College, Nova Southeastern University, Florida Atlantic University, Mc Fatter Technical Institute, College Academy, and Nova High Schools. This eight square mile complex in the heart of the Town is home to a population of some 45,000 students, faculty, and staff, and is in many ways a small city onto itself.

The Campus Policing Program was born from the Davie Police Department’s deep commitment to protecting and serving its citizens and the many students who make Davie their second home. A partnership was formed with the schools to address problems and fight crime in an environment of trust, professional pride, personal responsibility, integrity and service. To that end, four full-time Davie police officers are assigned to provide specialized police services to the campus community. These veteran officers are hand picked, receive specialized training, and are the essential bridge between the schools and the Department in ensuring the safety of all involved.
