Crime Analysis Unit
The primary mission of the Crime Analysis Unit is to assist the Davie Police Department and the community by providing pertinent and timely information relative to tracking offenders, crime patterns and trend correlations. The crime data assists the operational and administrative personnel in planning deployment of patrol for the prevention and suppression of criminal activities, aiding the investigative process and increasing apprehensions and case clearances.
Crime Analysis targets three areas: tactical, strategic, and/or administrative. Tactical analysis main focus is on crimes that pose immediate threat. Strategic analysis regards various levels of police presence to prevent crime. Administrative analysis involves presenting to management special reports which include crime statistics for a specified time period which could be on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Information is also disseminated through bulletins, informational reports, and officer safety fliers.
Crime Analysts also communicate with surrounding agencies to help remain alert to all criminal activity that could affect our community.
